About the Founder
Before making the journey out to Alberta, I spent the first 28 years of my life in Toronto. I finished highschool at 18 years of age and began working for a lovely Italian family in my neighborhood. I worked as a labourer loading trucks and delivering boxes of grapes for their wine business. Words can not express the love and respect I gained for this family, and they took a liking to me as well. After the first grape season the father, Tony took me under his wing. He was the supervisor on a big construction site downtown, and I worked as one of his labourers. After 2 years of building condos with Tony I decided I wanted to build single family homes. With the skills and the work ethic I had gained, finding a job was no challenge. I spent the next 7 years framing houses and doing renovations on the weekend.
During my first decade in the trades, I continuely heard success stories of tradesmen venturing out to Fort McMurray and making a life for themselves. I decided it was time to take the plunge myself, and I set my ambitions for Alberta. My carpentry backround set me up for an easy transition. I made one phone call and joined The Alberta Regional Council of Carpenters and Allied Workers. I gave the Union six good years before deciding it was time to fulfil my dream of becoming my own boss.
Starting my own company is the best decision I have ever made. It’s allowed me to invest all my time and effort into making sure I deal with customers directly and fulfil their needs with care and attention. I’ve had the opportunity to build some beautiful homes that I am extremely proud of, and my passion continues to grow. Hammer Up Homes has become my life and I couldn’t be happier about it.
